Passion...

Saw a really great tweet on passion today, and it started making me think about my things. People do things because they have to pay bills, make someone else happy, or simply just get by. However, when you actually have passion for what you are doing for your own happiness, you can succeed farther than you think. Happiness comes from achieving the impossible. When you are capable of something great, then do it! Don't say you can't just because, but rather that you can just because.

Liam Conversations...

Last night my little guy, Liam, had a fever and came into my room over and over again.  Eventually, I finally gave up trying to sleep because every time I would start to fall asleep, his little butt would climb on into bed.  It's always a surprise hearing the things that come out of his mouth; for instance, last night it was 'scoot mommy, I need room'...mind you, that I fell out of my bed not too long ago from I'm sure of my 'scoot' attempt.  Needless to say, mommy will always make room for another warm body; which put me up to 4 warm bodies in the bed last night (which is why I only slept an hour).  I don't recommend sleeping with two dogs and a toddler that often. Any way, one of the attempts of coming into my room, Liam stubbed his toe on something and started to cry.  I didn't see what it was, so I just picked him up and plopped him beside me.  I then decided to get up to use the bathroom and as I was getting up, Liam grabs my arm and says 'mom...

Talking with your 2 year old...

My son, Liam, is two and a half and is just now learning sentences.  Liam has been putting words together for a while now, but really just started speaking full sentences as of a few weeks ago.  Below is our conversation from this morning... Liam:  'I help you poop, Mommy. Please'?  (We're potty training). Me:  'No, I'm good, but I can help you go potty if you need me to'. Liam:  'Poop outside with Lucy'?  (Yes, he actually asked as a question). Me:  'Lucy's a dog, she has to go potty outside'. Liam:  As he surveys my face, and the door to the bathroom he says 'Okay.  Take iPad Mommy.  Help me poop".  (Such a little man). The part that has me laughing at this point is the request for iPad.  It's almost as if the man is shining through him.  Our discussion on germs after this was just as entertaining.  I sit and wonder after the fact;  I know I'm not the only mom who tries to have adult conversat...

Every person serves a purpose...

Not long ago a dear girlfriend of mine said that people would enter my life and serve a purpose in the moments of need. I have to say that I'm a firm believer in her wisdom.  As all my close friends know, it wasn't long ago when I felt my world collapse right in front of me.  I had a very heavy heart, and was pretty sure that it would never feel complete, let alone full again. Well, there was the perfect person that entered my life at the perfect moment, and ended up guiding me in the direction of how to love and trust again. There is a definite silver lining to all things in life.  It's how we chose to see them, if at all, that makes the difference.  It can be very easy to go down the path of feeling sorry for yourself, or becoming sad when events that happen in your life don't turn out as planned.  However, making the decision to rise above it and learn something from them is what can make for the better ending.  While I had hoped things with this wonde...
