Talking with your 2 year old...

My son, Liam, is two and a half and is just now learning sentences.  Liam has been putting words together for a while now, but really just started speaking full sentences as of a few weeks ago.  Below is our conversation from this morning... Liam:  'I help you poop, Mommy. Please'?  (We're potty training). Me:  'No, I'm good, but I can help you go potty if you need me to'. Liam:  'Poop outside with Lucy'?  (Yes, he actually asked as a question). Me:  'Lucy's a dog, she has to go potty outside'. Liam:  As he surveys my face, and the door to the bathroom he says 'Okay.  Take iPad Mommy.  Help me poop".  (Such a little man). The part that has me laughing at this point is the request for iPad.  It's almost as if the man is shining through him.  Our discussion on germs after this was just as entertaining.  I sit and wonder after the fact;  I know I'm not the only mom who tries to have adult conversat...

Every person serves a purpose...

Not long ago a dear girlfriend of mine said that people would enter my life and serve a purpose in the moments of need. I have to say that I'm a firm believer in her wisdom.  As all my close friends know, it wasn't long ago when I felt my world collapse right in front of me.  I had a very heavy heart, and was pretty sure that it would never feel complete, let alone full again. Well, there was the perfect person that entered my life at the perfect moment, and ended up guiding me in the direction of how to love and trust again. There is a definite silver lining to all things in life.  It's how we chose to see them, if at all, that makes the difference.  It can be very easy to go down the path of feeling sorry for yourself, or becoming sad when events that happen in your life don't turn out as planned.  However, making the decision to rise above it and learn something from them is what can make for the better ending.  While I had hoped things with this wonde...
