Talking with your 2 year old...
My son, Liam, is two and a half and is just now learning sentences. Liam has been putting words together for a while now, but really just started speaking full sentences as of a few weeks ago. Below is our conversation from this morning...
Liam: 'I help you poop, Mommy. Please'? (We're potty training).
Me: 'No, I'm good, but I can help you go potty if you need me to'.
Liam: 'Poop outside with Lucy'? (Yes, he actually asked as a question).
Me: 'Lucy's a dog, she has to go potty outside'.
Liam: As he surveys my face, and the door to the bathroom he says 'Okay. Take iPad Mommy. Help me poop". (Such a little man).
The part that has me laughing at this point is the request for iPad. It's almost as if the man is shining through him. Our discussion on germs after this was just as entertaining. I sit and wonder after the fact; I know I'm not the only mom who tries to have adult conversations with their 2 year old.
